Queensland Railways Refreshment Room uniform
Uniforms such as this one were worn by refreshment room attendants and catering staff on trains in Queensland Rail. The State Railway Refreshment Rooms Service was established in Queensland in 1916 to service railway patrons, with Refreshment Rooms from Alpha to Yaamba. The provision of food and beverages at stations and on long distance rail routes was an important part of the enjoyment of the journey for many patrons.
