'Its latest introduction is in the new jerseys of the Brisbane Rugby League team. The team was applauded when, at the Woolloongabba Ground on Saturday, it took the field against Toowoomba wearing the recently-adopted colours- white, with scapular stripes of red, and a sprig of poinsettia on the left breast.’ The Brisbane Courier, 28 March 1932
